6th Annual Apple Kid Duathlon!!
The Apple Kids popularity continues to grow as the word of this fun challenge spreads across central Minnesota. In its 5th year, the race drew 150 participants! In 2010 we hope to reach 200+ young athletes. Why? Because this race is all about motivating kids to be active and have some fun! And then, of course, there are goodies: chip timing, a cool T-shirt, post-race food and drink, awesome awards, door prizes, and more! This years event will use the same course as the previous 2 years. And it will utilize the same top-notch organizing committee, venue, sponsors, and loyal volunteers to provide a well-organized, fun, and safe race!!!
Race Date and Location
This year's Apple Kid will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 6:00PM - which is the evening before the adult Apple Duathlon. The school will host registration, the race start, finish, and transition area.
Registration and Costs
Cost for the race is: $5 prior to May 28, 2010, or $15 on race day. Click the tab above for the 2010 Registration! Each participant is also required to purchase an annual youth membership which is available online (see link below) for $5.
Race Requirements
INSURANCE: All competitors (besides seedlings)
must have a USA Triathlon License to compete in events sanctioned by USA Triathlon. Single day licenses will be available for athletes to purchase at packet pickup for $10.
Annual youth memberships are available online from USAT for $5. USAT annual members must present their valid membership card at packet pickup. The USAT website is

Apple Seedlings Information:
No registration or USAT insurance information is required
to participate in the Apple Seedlings race. Just show up and get ready to run!
Duathlon Rules Enforced
Registration will be allowed on race day only from 4:30 - 5:15PM. Due to school activities, we cannot process registrations before 4:30PM!
Race day registrants are not guaranteed a T-shirt. The registration fee covers a T-shirt, chip timing, food, drink and prizes.
Race will start at 6:00pm
Distances, age groups and awards
There will be two distances based on the following age groups:
USAT Race Age 7 thru 10: ¼ Mile Run, 3 ½ Mile Bike, ¼ Mile Run
USAT Race Age 11 thru 14: ½ Mile Run, 7 Mile Bike, ½ Mile Run
Awards will be given out to the top 3 boys and the top 3 girls for each USAT age.
